From just the 8 in-game Radiants, we have an incredible variety, ranging from Nature-Based to Fire Bending to Interdimensional Abilities.
There is a wide spectrum in the types of Powers that different Radiants possess. The genetic makeup of the individual is another determining factor for them to become a Radiant, and is likely the cause of the great variance in Radiant Abilities There unique genetic makeup, and how it predisposes them to react, absorb and be affected by an external event or sequence of events that involves Radianite. Those who are Radiants, and the extent of their powers, is largely a result of two things. It is unknown whether just Radianite is needed for one to become a Radiant, or if some other external factors are also required. It is unknown whether Radiance is Genetic, or whether it can be passed down from Parent to Child. However, it is unknown why exactly this is so. It was only after the event that Radiants began to appear. We know that it was the First Light that brought Radiance to the world. The extent of the interaction between the individual and Radianite is also unknown, which means that direct contact might not be necessary. While the definite trigger to Radiance is unknown, it is confirmed to be an event of a chain of events that have to do with Radianite.
